Virtual Meetings in District 12 of Isfahan: A New Step Toward a Smart City

Virtual meetings in District 12 of Isfahan Municipality have been launched with the aim of reducing in-person visits and increasing efficiency. In addition to in-person meetings held on Mondays, citizens can submit their requests through the “My Isfahan” platform. This initiative, by providing a secure technological infrastructure, represents an important step toward achieving a smart city and serves as a model for other urban districts.

The Director of District 12 announced the implementation of virtual meetings with citizens, describing it as a milestone in the path toward smart urban services. This initiative aims to reduce in-person visits, enhance productivity, and create a faster and more direct connection between citizens and administrators.

In an interview with IMNA, Abbasali Ali-Khasi emphasized the municipality’s changing approach in citizen engagement, stating: “The development of IT infrastructure has made virtual meetings a permanent part of service delivery. This method not only saves time but also removes geographical limitations and enables broader public participation in urban management.”

He added that all arrangements have been made to respond to the needs of various citizen groups. Furthermore, the office of the district director remains fully open to the public so that issues can be addressed promptly.

Ali-Khasi continued: “According to the planned schedule, in-person meetings are held on Mondays, while virtual and non-physical meetings are available on other days. Citizens can also submit their requests via the ‘My Isfahan’ platform so that their concerns are addressed as quickly as possible.”

The Director highlighted the goals of this initiative, stating: “Virtual meetings aim to reduce administrative traffic, facilitate access to managers, save citizens’ time, and align with Isfahan Municipality’s broader policies for moving toward a smart city.”

He added that the project was designed and implemented in collaboration with the district’s IT unit, providing a secure and stable platform to ensure meetings are conducted smoothly and with high quality.

In conclusion, Ali-Khasi noted: “These meetings are scheduled regularly in the district’s operational calendar, and this experience can serve as an inspiring model for other urban districts, supporting the development of digital services toward the full realization of a smart city.”
